Norfolk Ganseys meet Venetian stripes in this new summer classic. Inspired by their two favourite places: North Norfolk and Venice. The “Rigata” organic striped Gansey knit takes its shape and construction from the original Norfolk Ganseys but its stripe is reminiscent of Venice: from the striped beach awnings of the Lido, to the Gondoliere’s iconic tops, to the striped mooring poles along the Grand Canal.

The Rigata striped Gansey is made from the finest light weight organic Pima cotton (certified by GOTS and ICEA) so that it has a soft handle but is hard wearing and pilling resistant due to its long silky fibres.

Available in 3 sizes: XS/S, S/M and M/L this is a unisex style.

The buttons on the shoulder opening are made by an artisan button workshop in the UK from “Codelite”, a by-product of milk protein which is new completely sustainable material.

The low funnel neck shape is true to the Norfolk Gansey patterns, knitted integrally to the body with “rung” stitch detailing along the shoulders and at the joins between arm hole and sleeve – just like the original Gansey jumpers in the Norfolk archives. There is a small reverse knit detail which runs along the side seam and underarms which can also be found on the original Ganseys, to mark the front and back of the jumpers. This detail is picked out beautifully in the stripe and creates a new detail – one of the things that makes each Charl piece so special.
