Who is Percy Langley?
Percy Langley Is A Discovery Platform for Contemporary British Design. We Sell Clothes Designed to Empower Wearer + Maker Alike. Always Ethically Made from Responsible Materials.
We are a collective of over 30 independent British designers, united in our desire to produce beautiful clothes ethically, we’re inspired by the style and production heritage of the British Isles.
Percy Langley seek to have a positive impact on the lives of the people that make and wear our clothes. We aim to minimise the negative impact of clothing production on the planet, making to order when possible; good things come to those who wait!
We use traceable raw materials and we are transparent throughout the supply chain to enable our customers to make informed decisions about what they’re buying. Style doesn’t need to cost the earth.
Our designers are positively disrupting the fashion industry, with a focus on slowing down clothing production and making garments designed to be worn for years to come. Around half of our clothing is British made, often by the designers themselves; honouring the artisanal heritage of British clothing known for its superior quality and timeless style.
We consistently strive to accelerate conscientious consumerism by adopting more sustainable production methods and eco conscious commercial practice. We help our customers to make informed and responsible choices evoking happiness and peace of mind in designer, maker and wearer, alike.
We are the founders, Georgina Whall and Poppy Sherbrooke, working closely with each designer to curate the Percy Langley range. The collections showcase multiple brands and bring the most exciting designs together, forging a community of independent designers that’s stronger together. Together we celebrate the diversity and inclusivity of the community of independent designers we represent; women dressing women, championing a love of design and body positivity.
Established in autumn 2020, we initially found fame selling unique interior accessories, such as The David Shrigley Tea Towel. The move into clothing and accessories happened very organically. Our best selling ranges of statement dresses and fine contemporary jewellery have gained a bit of a cult following. Customers around the globe love our unique slow fashion collections that regularly feature heritage British textiles such as Liberty prints and tartan. We regularly use deadstock fabric and reworked vintage where possible. Often there are only a very small number of pieces available to purchase which adds to the appeal. Designed to be as trans-seasonal as possible and made to last, our clothes and accessories have longevity.
