Suburban Landscape Vest by the Amateur Weather Observers
‘My love for a good sweater vest is perhaps second only to Chandler Bing’s. For an item so playful they’re a real workhorse in the wardrobe, warming up summer outfits and dressing down every frock you might otherwise save “for best”. The craftsmanship on this intarsia knit is stunning, and I love Amateur Weather Observers’ whole philosophy, celebrating Britain’s landscapes and climate in the medium of British wool, via a small team of passionate hand-knitters. Suburbia never looked so inspiring’ Lauren Bravo, Author & Journalist.
Intarsia vest with round neck and rib edges in 'Suburban Landscape'. Hand knitted in the UK with traceable British wool. Regular fit, lend of Shetland and Bluefaced Leicester wool.
Introducing The Amateur Weather Observers, a distinctive British knitwear brand rooted in a reverence for traditional craftsmanship and sustainability. Their name reflects a commitment to British heritage, with locally sourced materials and skilled artisans forming the essence of their collections. Inspired by the ever-changing climate and diverse landscapes of the UK, each garment embodies the beauty and unpredictability of the surroundings.
Crafted with care by Laura, the founder, and a dedicated team of passionate knitters, every piece is hand-knitted in the United Kingdom. They exclusively use 100% British wool, chosen for its quality and eco-friendly properties. With wool's natural self-cleaning capabilities, most garments can be refreshed by airing them out in a well-ventilated space. To wash, they recommend gentle hand washing with lukewarm water and a mild wool wash, followed by careful reshaping and flat drying to maintain the garment's integrity.
At The Amateur Weather Observers, they believe in garments that endure both in style and quality, reflecting the timeless appeal of artisanal craftsmanship and sustainable practices.
